VETERANS COMMUNITY RESPONSE

VCR has adopted the warrior’s creed “we bring everyone home " and believes this is a community responsibility. We are proud to rely solely on the resources and volunteerism of our community and our unique collaborative healing approach provides veterans with proven and effective methods to adjust to post-combat life.

Connect - Heal - Serve
These three words describe our approach to helping Combat Veterans re-integrate into civilian society. We believe that first, we must help the Veteran initiate the healing process. As that is being initiated, we connect them with trauma clinicians to help guide that process. We introduce the veteran to Native American elders, who offer a variety of spiritual cleansings and ceremonies that help heal spiritual wounds in a path that welcomes all varieties of spiritual beliefs. We rebuild a team of brothers around the Veteran, including mentors who share proven effective tools to readjustment.

Finally, we get the veteran to move beyond war - what are you going to do with the rest of your life? We offer a variety of paths into service to their brothers, to the community, and to our nation, including disaster response.
