VIRGINIA HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

VHCDC is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt Community Development Corporation (CDC), a U.S. Treasury Certified Community Development Entity (CDE) and HUD approved Local Housing Counseling Agency (#90617).

VHCDC collaborates with local housing authorities, volunteers, and community service agencies to reclaim blighted neighborhoods. Our goal is to transform deteriorating structures, abandoned properties, and dumping grounds into vibrant, stable communities with next-generation housing.

VHCDC is devoted to designing, developing, and marketing ultra-energy-efficient housing for various groups, including disabled and homeless veterans, non-veteran homeless individuals and families, those aged 55+, and non-violent ex-offenders.

VHCDC plays a crucial role in promoting community well-being, financial literacy, and sustainable housing solutions across Virginia.

Through its Home Ownership Assistance Program (HOAP), VHCDC assists first-time homebuyers with a suite of actions to educate, counsel, advise, deliver technical and professional assistance, and aware post-closing transition assistance to empower low-to-moderate income households to achieve their goal of home ownership. VHCDC offers the program to Virginia residents in Hampton Roads and Central, Northern, and Southside, Virginia. Residents of Washington, DC and areas bordering Virginia in North Carolina are also eligible.
