Workers Comp is a short film set amidst the aftermath of a work place injury in an industrial warehouse.
It follows Billy, a low wage factory worker, who finds his work force divided over the injury of Bucky, a coworker and friend with whom he has a secret romantic relationship. Their supervisor Dalton seeks to prove it was an intentional attempt to gain workers' compensation, while the employees attempt to utilize the tragedy to fight for better wages and working conditions. Billy is alone in his grief and anxiety while Bucky is in the hospital. In search of solace, he tracks down Bucky's parents to inform them of what happened but is met with further dismissal. Bucky's family's rejection of Billy solidifies his isolation but also motivates a defiant reveal of the true nature of their relationship.
