1-41 Reunion Inc
BURLINGTON, KansasThe organization holds an annual reunion in Kansas. The last 6 have been at Milford Lake, near Fort Riley. Next year’s reunion will be in the Kansas City area. The mission is to bring the Iraq and Afghanistan combat veterans back together to reestablish the bond we all had. Over the last 19 years a lot of the guys have grown apart due to distance. We believe that bringing them back together once a year will help lower the suicide numbers that have gotten out of control. We also reach out to the gold star families (families that lost a loved one in combat) and invite them and pay their travel expenses to be part of the reunion. We believe that its equally important for them to see their loved one will never be forgotten. As part of the reunion we have several activities that everyone is invited to participate in. This year we started off with a memorial road march to honor our fallen brothers. Here is a video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/p4Ai4jCy26B9GK8J8 We also invite VA staff to assist to help the veterans understand what programs they qualify for to help improve their life. Then the day is concluded with a dinner and a raffle where we raffle off nostalgic items bearing the old units crest or patch.
100% of the proceeds go towards putting the reunion on. This includes transportation and lodging for gold star families, raffle and auction items, Food, Drinks, Plates, Cups, Plasticware, Catering Services, Building Rental.
