The Verona American Legion Veteran Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 charity, is guided
by a core belief: That veterans are driven to continue their service to the community,
state, and nation. We were founded by veterans who sought to improve the lives of those in our community who might need a hand up in pursuit of their educational goals. We seek to ensure every student has equal access to learning, is treated equitably by the learning community, and feels supported by their community. We are a band of brothers and sisters who, whether in peace time or war, put on the uniform of our country and made sacrifices in our lives and the lives of our families. With that in mind, our Foundation is unique in that we never spend money that is given in the donor’s name. We invest it and spend the earnings on the established program. Through the Verona American Legion Veterans Foundation, Inc., you can create a memorial in your name, family name, or company name that will live on in perpetuity in the community. To establish a program with the Foundation, please call the president or any board member. You can also donate outside the memorial avenue and the earnings from the invested amount will be used to support one of our established programs. These include, but not limited to: Badger Boys/Girls State Fund, County Government Day Fund (non-political), American Legion Baseball/Softball, Scouting, Dane County Veterans In Need Fund, Camp American Legion Fund, VA Hospital Fund, Post 385 Firing Squad Fund, Veterans Grave Memorial, Post Service Officers Fund, Annual Awards for Fireman, EMT, Policeman, National Guard/Reservist of the Year, Badger Honor Flight, Flag Disposal Fund, Agricultural Scholarship, American Legion Scholarship, Oratorical Award, and School Americanism Awards. To find out more about any of these programs please contact us at 207 Legion Street, Verona WI 53593 and we can send you a pamphlet.
