Honor & Remember Veterans @ Riverside National Cemetery - 2024

--- A CALL TO REMEMBER AND GIVE BACK ---

The solemn and sacred grounds of Riverside National Cemetery (RNC) hold a special place in American history. It's the final resting ground for over 310,000 veterans – heroes who answered the call of duty and bravely served our country. This December, we have the opportunity to honor their sacrifice by participating in Wreaths Across America (WAA) Day.

Empathy is the Remedy Foundation is proud to partner with WAA and be their official Location Coordinator for Riverside National Cemetery, the largest and busiest managed by the US Department of Veterans Affairs - National Cemetery Administration. Since 2017, our foundation, inspired by the memory of our founder Nicole Joy Ledina, a dedicated youth volunteer for veterans' causes, has participated in this national program. In the past there were about 3000-4200 wreaths on average placed annually at RNC. In 2022, our first year coordinating this location, 10,980 wreaths were placed and in 2023, we placed over 10,000 wreaths again. Despite that growth, we still have a long way to go and we would like to do even better. Our goal is to ensure every veteran at Riverside National Cemetery receives a wreath, a symbol of our enduring gratitude.
