SCHAS is unique from other caregiving agencies in that we are the only organization in Tennessee that offers an Equitable Access Care Program in which the cost of our services is based on the client’s net income. Our full fee rate is $35 per hour, which is lower than most for-profit caregiving agencies. However, many of our clients live below the 150% federal poverty guideline and simply cannot afford that rate but desperately need the services.
We offer the following options:
Full Fee: $35 per hour.
Veterans Fee: This fee is determined by Veterans Affairs and is based on the number of years served.
Government Program Fee: SCHAS works with various government programs including National Family Caregiver and Options for Community Living. These programs are offered to clients who qualify based on their income and needs. SCHAS covers $6 per hour for clients who rely on these programs.
Equitable Access Fee (formerly called Sliding Scale Fee): For clients that are not eligible for government programs and cannot afford our full fee rate, we offer a flat fee of $10 per hour for up to 20 hours a month of services. SCHAS covers $25 per hour for clients who rely on these programs.
Through Development revenues including grants, contributions, fundraisers and support from the United Way, SCHAS can offer this program to clients who desparately need the care support but cannot afford a full fee rate.
