Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness while ensuring the immediate needs of those experiencing homelessness are met and their civil rights protected.
NCH was founded in 1982 with the mission of ending homelessness. In 1987 we led the fight for the Stewart B. McKinney Act, helping to pass this landmark legislation which remains the primary federal response to homelessness. Two years later, NCH was one of four sponsors for the Housing Now March on
