LIFE WATERS

LifeWaters was incorporated and its 501c3 status secured in 2014. While other areas of the United States have programs working with persons with mobility issues, as a nonprofit, LifeWaters has training locations and trainers all over the United States ranging from Hawaii to Puerto Rico. We have expanded our reach to include anyone with disabilities that can benefit from scuba and the confidence it builds in participants. LifeWaters headquarters is located in St. Louis Missouri, Beside U.S. interest, Lifewaters has received queries from Canada, Great Britain and Mexico. LifeWaters participants also have the opportunity to participate in dives at the Atlanta Aquarium, and at the Epcot center in DisneyWorld. We are constantly researching other sites to get our participants in the water for new experiences.
LifeWaters program has been supported by the donations of the volunteers participating, as well as grants and organizations sponsoring individual participation.
LifeWaters does not charge its participants. When we have people who would like to participate, outside of our initial service areas LifeWaters has been very proactive in finding opportunities closer to their locations. LifeWaters does not stop when a participant becomes scuba certified,
we encourage their continued involvement in the organization and as a member of the LifeWaters Team. At its inception, LifeWaters intention was to plan, develop, manage, and implement programs to provide adaptive sports activities for disabled Veterans and disabled members of the Armed Forces. That vision has expanded to include anyone with disabilities.
Our program is not limited to SCI participants, but includes those who use prosthetic limbs, have hearing and visual challenges, and a variety of other challenges. LifeWaters encourages the understading that a disability does not define who you are, but we want to encourage an open mind and as many options for our clients as possible.
