REBUILDING TOGETHER FARGO-MOORHEAD AREA INC

Since 2011, Rebuilding Together Fargo-Moorhead Area has partnered with volunteers and professionals to complete home repairs and needed modifications for income qualifying homeowners. We focus on senior citizens, people living with disabilities, and military veterans. Our service area covers Cass, Traill, and Richland counties in North Dakota and Clay County, Minnesota. We have two, full-time, paid staff and a 9-member volunteer board of directors. We complete projects in approximately 35-40 homes per year. Generally, this results in 80-85 projects, directly improving the lives of 50-55 individuals. Projects range from providing fire extinguishers, to installing grab bars, from repairing and replacing roofs to replumbing entire homes, and everything in-between. Our work not only improves independence, health, and wellbeing of the current residents of each home that we work on, but it allows these homes to remain safe, healthy, and affordable if and when they are placed on the market. We use a person first approach in all of our work as one of our values is respecting the dignity of each of our program recipients. When needed we provide referrals to appropriate agencies for our program recipients and have eliminated barriers for how we receive applications. This means that we do not require formal referrals and we accept applications online, through the mail, or in-person. When mail is used, we provide postage and we have also picked up applications in person. It is our passion to keep people safe, healthy, and independent in the homes that they love and to keep these homes affordable for future generations.
