Volunteers of America is the charity that always steps forward to help the most vulnerable. Founded in 1896, we're a faith-based non-profit dedicated to helping those in need live healthy, safe and productive lives. In Upstate New York, VOA serves more than 6,000 people a year through a wide variety of life-changing programs and services that focus in four key areas – early childhood education and programs for at-risk youth; homelessness prevention programs and emergency, transitional, supportive and permanent housing for people at risk of homelessness; and re-entry/corrections services. VOA, with the community’s support, helps impoverished children, at-risk youth, homeless individuals and families, veterans and seniors move toward a better future.
