End Hunger Connecticut! (EHC!) is a statewide anti-hunger organization founded in 1999, committed not only to ending hunger but also to fostering food security, nutrition, and educational outreach. Registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 2001, our focus encompasses the entire state, including 1,165,000 residents in Hartford, Tolland, and Windham Counties. Our SNAP Call Center, operating seven days a week, provides specialized, bilingual assistance, and handled over 13,000 calls in FY22—nearly half involving families with children. In 2022, we broadened our reach by collaborating with schools to increase student SNAP enrollment, thereby enhancing both food security and educational outcomes. Our CT Summer Meals initiative broke records, distributing 50,000 multilingual materials and touching 1.5 million lives through varied advertising platforms. Central to our mission is our CT Fresh Match program, which amplifies the purchasing power for nutritious food at farmers' markets, projecting an estimated $150,000 in doubled SNAP benefits for 2022. By weaving together advocacy, nutritious food access, and educational outreach, EHC! stands as a comprehensive resource for policymakers, community organizations, and particularly for families and youth across Connecticut.
