Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire

Unique in this area, FPSNH serves families of all compositions, including single-fathers (a growing portion of the homeless population), two-parent families, single mothers, pregnant women, and any other types of families. We also serve veteran families that do not qualify for other veteran programs. Our focus is on protecting the family unit and saving families by teaching them the skills they need to both become self-sufficient and maintain independent lives.

With the goal of self-sufficiency and permanent housing, families work with the Director of Family Services to develop comprehensive financial and housing plans. They establish short-term objectives to overcome obstacles and they are held accountable for making progress. In lieu of rent, families are required to save 70% of their disposable income. We teach them to budget and save their earrings toward security deposits and/or down payments, allowing them to secure and maintain sustainable housing when they graduate from the program.

Since our inception, we have guided over 130 families from homelessness and put them on the path to self-sufficiency within our residential program. Additionally, FPSNH assists hundreds of local families through our prevention and diversion program which is focused on sparing families from homelessness and engendering sustainable solutions prior to homelessness. FPSNH is an affiliate of the national organization, Family Promise, which has over 200 affiliates in 41 states. Family Promise is the largest national non-profit organization dealing with homelessness.
