Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema (BHOC) is a 20+ years-old community-based
film festival presenting free screenings of diverse local filmmakers’ works in
Bernal parks, playgrounds, and public spaces to build and engage community
while increasing the recognition of artists by neighborhood and citywide
residents.
We are seeking IAM’s Model A Comprehensive Sponsorship because we
believe our own mission of building and strengthening community through
showcasing local independent film in accessible screenings in outdoor and
indoor public spaces — aligns with IAM’s mission to support visual media art
projects that foster community participation, engagement and free expression.
Our two decades-old track record of bringing Bernal and nearby
neighborhood audiences together to see locally produced works that resonate
with the sentiments of our economically, ethnically and politically tolerant
values — facilitates a reckoning of our common humanity. Our longevity and
neighborhood support is a testament to the community’s bonds and
commitment that BHOC provides year after year.
