Three Chairs for Refugees (TCR) is a community-based multimedia arts initiative that harnesses the transformative power of personal storytelling to promote the individual well-being and social inclusion of refugees and immigrants resettling in the USA. Forced by war or persecution to flee their homelands, refugees arriving on our Seattle soil face untold obstacles in gaining the capacity and access they need to participate fully in American society. Immigrants face similar challenges. The telling and sharing of their personal stories promises to ease their adjustment process by cultivating self-efficacy, and providing refugees & immigrants with valuable tools for advocating their interests, building cross-cultural community, and informing and engaging the general public.
