The Parting Ways Art Installation, CAC’s flagship initiative, honors the legacy of four Black Revolutionary War veterans who founded the Parting Ways settlement in Plymouth. This transformative project turns overlooked local history into a vibrant cultural landmark, preserving heritage, elevating African American stories, and fostering education, intergenerational dialogue, and community healing. Through murals, civic installations, and hands-on workshops, hundreds of residents—especially youth—engage each year, building cross-cultural understanding and revitalizing history. Support for this project enables CAC to commission local and BIPOC artists, artists of all ages and abilities, fund programs and materials, and expand creative placemaking across Massachusetts.
