RESKILL AMERICANS

SEATTLE, Washington

Reskill Americans is a nonprofit founded by tech veterans that provides tuition-free software development training, mentorship and community to unemployed, underemployed and career switching underrepresented minorities across the U.S. to help them launch a career path in tech. We want to live in a world where minority representation in the tech sector more closely reflects their numbers in the overall U.S. population. To do that, we hope to rapidly scale up access to software development training to as many underrepresented minorities as possible.

Reskill Americans eliminates traditional barriers to access so that underrepresented racial minorities with no prior experience in tech can enroll in our rigorous, instructor–led online software development training program. Our model provides access for all underrepresented communities, with no tuition cost or pre-qualifications. To enroll, participants must be an underrepresented racial minority, legally-authorized to work in the U.S., and have a LinkedIn profile and a computer with internet access. Participants who complete our seven-month program will have applied their new skills to software development projects, worked on cross-functional teams, and built a portfolio of work to show future employers.
