An auditioned community choir with a 44-year history in Colorado, The Littleton Chorale dba Voices West is committed to musical excellence, community connection, and creating a culture of belonging. We draw chorus members and supporters from Denver and surrounding areas including Arapahoe, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties and offer performances throughout the Front Range.
In addition to our regular concerts (which we livestream to make our concerts more accessible to the mobility-impaired and others who cannot attend in person), Voices West performs an annual benefit concert to raise money for the music programs of two underserved elementary schools in the Littleton Public School District. We also provide video recordings of our concert livestreams to students in these and other underserved schools, many of whom have never attended a choir concert. During the pandemic lockdown, when in-person performances were not possible and seniors were isolated from family and community, we provided CDs of past performances to nearly two dozen local nursing homes and senior living facilities. Our smaller outreach choir, Summit Sound, performs at community events, nursing homes, and other smaller venues.
We love collaborating with other arts organizations! Last season we performed with Ballet Folklorico Baile Caliente traditional Mexican dancers at our concert celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, and we performed Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra. This season we'll be performing with the Colorado Chamber Orchestra.
"Thank you for your generous donation to the Littleton Public Schools Foundation from the Voices West Benefit Concert designated for the music programs at East and Field Elementary Schools. Your gift will allow us to continue making an impact on education in Littleton Public Schools. As a longtime supporter of LPS, you are part of something truly special; a community dedicated to investing in the youth of today and the future of tomorrow. We are honored by the confidence you have placed in us; your financial contribution will be invested in the best place possible...our kids." -Beth Best, Executive Director, Littleton Public Schools Foundation
“Voices West has made a huge impact on the students at East over the last several years. The concert itself is something that the parents and the students look forward to; the students love to hear the adults sing and it sounds magical when the adult voices join the children's. Many of the students don't normally attend choral concerts and the combined performance gives them a glimpse of experiences they could have in the future. Mr. Krueger's enthusiasm and ease with the students is also enjoyable for the elementary choir students; he is a great conductor and the students are inspired by him. We have been able to purchase matching performance t-shirts, an electric piano, sheet music, costumes, props, musical instruments, and technology for the music program with the funds raised by the benefit concert. With a shortage in school budgets, this has been a huge benefit to our school and provides the items needed to continue to have a successful music program at East Elementary.” - Amy Gonzales, former East Elementary music teacher
"I wanted to let you know that my 3rd 4th and 5th graders all viewed the concert. It was very good and we enjoyed it very much. Many had not seen a choral concert ever so it was a good exposure for them." - Laurie Christian, Eugene Field Elementary School music teacher
"We love having Voices West come to Wide Horizon, as the quality of the music, their enthusiasm, and their willingness to share their music with us is sheer joy. When we have opportunity or occasion to have a group come in, Voices West is always at the top of our list. We hope they can continue to bring beautiful music and joy to people in nursing facilities as well as other venues, for a LONG time to come." -Jan Dillingham, Activities/Volunteer Coordinator, Wide Horizon Nursing Home
"Just a note to tell you how exceptionally popular Voices West Select is, here at RiverPointe. Since your first appearance at Christmas time, several years ago, when we have many groups come to entertain for the holidays, Voices West Select stood out like a treetop star! Residents came out of the performance so impressed that I recognized the look of 'WOW' on their faces. Every performance thereafter, some in the midyear, and always during the holidays, drew room-filling crowds The word was out. So, when I scheduled a trip to go and see the whole choral group, Voices West, the sign-up sheet filled very quickly. The quality of those performances are as professional and delightful as the best chorus concerts we've heard. The large number of voices, perfectly tuned, makes for a powerful musical experience! I am so happy to have Voices West treat our community to exceptional vocal musical programs!" - Kris Clark, Resident Services, River Pointe senior living
"On behalf of the staff and residents at The Gardens at Columbine, we thank you for sending us your CDs. We appreciate your thoughtfulness during these hard times we are all experiencing. We are playing them for our Memory Care residents as they participate with staff in making art, doing puzzles, eating snacks, playing games, and relaxing. Your music is nice in the background of our days. We also play them for our assisted Living Residents on our 'Rolling Happy Hour Cart' -- a rolling cart loaded with wine and spirits, snacks, and a boom box. We do it every Friday, and we play different music each week as we roll through the hallways serving drinks. The residents come to the door to hear a little bit of the music and to wave at their neighbors down the hall. It is the highlight of the week." - Molly Elvig, Enrichment Coordinator, Gardens at Columbine nursing home
"Thank you so very much for your recordings of the two recent concerts by Voices West. We are starting to use them already -- as you are aware, providing entertainment right now is a challenge, whether in an nursing facility or any other venue. Such a thoughtful gift! I look forward to hearing LIVE concerts with Voices West once again when things open up once more." -Mike Gutesha, Wide Horizon Nursing Home
"Voices West's participation in our Memorial Day 'Salute to Veterans' tribute which has become a beloved tradition that the Littleton community looks forward to each year. Voices West's musical performances are always uplifting and bring joy to all. We look forward to hearing you again next year." -April Cockett, Recreation Director, Ken-Caryl Ranch Metro District
"Voices West was wonderful to work with to provide holiday cheer at Denver Botanic Gardens' annual holiday light show, Blossoms of Light. The manager was always prompt in response and the group was timely in arrival and singing times. The group had a beautiful sound and created a cheery yet elegant ambience. We love having them perform at Blossoms of Light and have always received great feedback from our guests." -Madalyn Dunn, Public Events Coordinator, Denver Botanic Gardens
