PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE OF NORTH CENTRAL OHIO INC

People Helping People of North Central Ohio, INC. is a program that provides a daily meal to those in need in Mansfield, Ohio. Our program began in 2016 when we saw a need in our community. Many of those that we initially served were veterans who were struggling with poverty, mental health and alcohol and drug issues. Through our program we were able to get to know them and link them with community resources. Since the inception of our program we have been providing a meal to those in need 7 days per week/365 days a year. We have been successful in doing this because the community has wrapped their arms around this population and has vowed to take care of their community. We have grounded ourselves in the biblical verse Matthew 25:36, I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.
Over the past year we have seen the number of people receiving the meal increase. On most days we provide a meal to 70-150 people. As you might guess, the numbers reflect the weather. In the summer the program provides for approximately 35-50 children.
