Brian Cosgrove Memorial Fund Inc

The Brian Cosgrove Memorial Fund (“Fund”) exists to make the gift of education available to a deserving student in financial need at Loyola High School of Baltimore, Inc. (“Loyola Blakefield”) in Towson, Maryland. This Fund was created in memory of Brian Thomas Cosgrove, Class of 1998, by his family and friends to commemorate his appreciation for what Loyola Blakefield provided to him in academic, athletic, personal achievement, and spiritual formation. Brian Cosgrove passed away on May 5, 2016 at the age of 36, after a year-long battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. The Brian Cosgrove Memorial Fund’s primary mission is funding scholarships at Loyola Blakefield in Brian Cosgrove’s loving memory for students requiring financial assistance. The funds will be provided by broad support from the public through corporate sponsorships, individual donors, grants, and from other public charities. Loyola Blakefield is a qualified 501(c)(3) organization providing education to students in grades 6-12. Loyola Blakefield prohibits discrimination against any person because of age, ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religion, sexual or affectional orientation, appearance, matriculation, political affiliation, marital status, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.

The Brian Cosgrove Memorial Fund is made possible through philanthropic donations, and its annual fundraiser, “A Brother for Others Final Four Fundraiser.” The fundraiser occurs at the Towson Rec Room in Towson, Maryland on the Saturday of the NCAA Final Four Tournament, and features dinner, socializing, and viewing of the basketball games. Proceeds are generated through ticket sales, the silent auction, raffles, and corporate sponsorship of the event. Throughout the year, the Brian Cosgrove Memorial Fund markets to potential donors via social media around milestone events such as Giving Tuesday, seeking to maintain awareness and solicit donations.
