Paws and Warriors is a team united by the love for dogs and passion to support those that serve and protect us: our Veterans, First Responders and Gold Star families. Each of us have been affected deeply by physical and/or mental disabilities (such as PTSD) in one way or another. Many of our client's volunteer with Paws and Warriors to pay it forward; understanding personally how much hope and healing comes from the unconditional love of a dog.
The Purpose of Paws and Warriors is to heal eligible recipients throughout North America, one dog at a time. The team builds a relationship of trust and lifetime support for our clients utilizing rescue dogs, breeder donated dogs, or from our "Bred for Purpose" program for a better today and tomorrow.
Our Vision is to create a better everyday life for our clients and their families; a healthy handler is a healthy home. A service dog companion is a tool to assist with improved mental health and stability. Paws and Warriors aids the participants in a feeling of security and empowers them to live life to the fullest.
To achieve the mission Paws and Warriors needs the financial stability to provide a regular stream of service dogs with a minimal waiting period for applicants. Funding limits the number of clients served. The average cost of most service dog programs is $25,000 - $30,000 and average waiting periods range from 3-5 years. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates the current statistic value of one life to be $7.4 million. For a micro fraction of that value, Paws and Warriors can provide a service dog before a Veteran, First Reponder or Gold Star family member quite fighting.
An Application for a service dog represents an applicant seeking help and is a human life reaching out to save themselves. So often, an application for a service dog is that person's last attempt for emotional hope. With the help of a service dog, invisible wounds can be healed too. More dogs trained equals more lives saved.
