Senior Paws VAP provides routine and emergency assistance for participating pets. Eligible services include vaccinations, heartworm and flea treatments, spaying and neutering, and emergency care. Currently, Meals on Wheels of Denton County participants and registered Span Transit riders can enroll their pets and receive Vet care at no cost. The program is an unfunded labor of love and does not receive State or Federal funding. The inaugural year was funded by a $10,000.00 grant and helped 41 furry companions remain healthy and with their owners. When fully funded, our goal is to provide Veterinary care to at least 100 pets annually. All funds donated to this program will be used to pay for veterinary care expenses provided by partner Veterinary clinics and required transportation for enrolled pets as well as to cover related admin expenses.
