Denison, TexasThe Military Veteran Peer Network is a Texas Veterans Commission mental health program that is governed by the local mental health authority. The Texoma chapter is hosted by the Texoma Community Center. It is the mission of the Military Veteran Peer Network to help Service Members, Veterans and their families to increase their resiliency, create stability, hone coping skills, and encourage community involvement.
The Military Veteran Peer Network is made up of Veterans and Military related civilians that care about their local Military Community. This is accomplished through Trust, Camaraderie, and Hope by providing connections to Veteran and Community Resources; one-on-one Peer Support; weekly Men's, Women's, and Co-ed Support Groups; weekly Lunches and monthly Breakfast; SMART Recovery Group; Holiday & Family Fun events; Suicide Prevention Training; and Military Cultural Competency Training. Trainings are open to the public to increase awareness.
