PARALYZED VETERANS OF AMERICA

The mission of Texas Paralyzed Veterans of America (Texas PVA) is to serve veterans with spinal cord injury/disease, and individuals with disabilities, by providing programs that build a better future for them so they may be active in the community and live life to its fullest. One of the ways that Texas PVA accomplishes its purpose is to promote the health and well-being of the disabled person. Texas PVA provides information and equipment to potential wheelchair athletes. Archery, basketball, boating, football, sit-skiing, racquetball, rugby, swimming, tennis, track and field, and weightlifting are among the many sports and recreation activities in which our members can participate.

Texas PVA was established in 1972 and currently serves veterans in Austin, Houston,
San Antonio, Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley.

From supporting important health issues to connecting veterans to resources and programs, Texas PVA is a multifaceted, fully committed advocate for veterans with spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D).
