SANTA ROSA, CaliforniaLegal Aid's mission is to promote social justice and advance basic human rights for vulnerable people in our community. Our vision is that every person in the community, regardless of income, age, race, or other demographic factors, will have access to shelter, healthcare, basic income, and safety in their homes.
Legal Aid of Sonoma County has provided free legal services to Sonoma County’s low income and vulnerable populations for over 65 years. Founded in 1958 and incorporated in 1983 as a private nonprofit, Legal Aid provides crisis legal services to low-income families, children, elders, immigrants, other vulnerable Sonoma County residents.
Legal Aid of Sonoma County (LASC) assists over 3,000 adults and 2,000 children every year with crisis legal needs. These include domestic violence, child and elder abuse, low income housing issues, veteran's benefits, and overcoming legal obstacles to housing, health and employment. LASC provides full scope legal services including legal advice, preparation of legal documents, negotiations, and in court representation.
