GLOUCESTER COUNTY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Since its inception in 1986, Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity (GCHFH) has served Gloucester County’s more than 290,000 residents by building homes for deserving families and improving its communities throughout the region. In addition to putting its civilian community on the path to homeownership, GCHFH also serves its veteran community as one of only two accredited veteran affiliates in Southern New Jersey.

With GCHFH, partner families will have the opportunity to earn a home through “sweat equity” hours, where they will participate in building their home or the homes of other partner families. Following successful completion of their “sweat equity” hours and a financial literacy training course, they will then purchase the home with a no interest mortgage. In addition to providing deserving partner families with homes, the work of GCHFH contributes to the community by transforming vacant lots into homes, thus providing additional tax revenue to the community.
