Veterans Legal Institute® (VLI) provides pro bono legal assistance to homeless, at risk, disabled and low income current and former service members to eradicate barriers to housing, healthcare, education, and employment and foster self-sufficiency.
VLI provides free legal services in a variety of areas including complex veteran benefit appeals, discharge upgrades for survivors of military sexual trauma, those with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and those who faced discrimination. We provide services in a variety of other civil legal areas including landlord-tenant in a collaborative approach to keep the veteran and his/her family housed, estate planning for older adult and terminally ill veterans, limited family law and adoption, and more.
