LIFECYCLE BUILDING CENTER INC

ATLANTA, Georgia

Lifecycle Building Center (LBC) captures usable building materials from the waste stream and directs them back into the community. LBC serves as a resource for affordable, sustainable building materials and as a learning environment for community members to gain hands-on skills and tackle home improvement projects themselves. LBC’s mission of “environmental stewardship and community resilience by creating a sustainable lifecycle for the built environment” is enacted through 5 programs: 1) Our Reuse Center, which distributes reclaimed building materials to the public at deep discounts; 2) Free Pickup and Deconstruction Services, through which reclaimed materials are collected; 3) our Nonprofit Material MATCH Program, which gives free reclaimed building materials to nonprofits, schools, and churches; 4) Free Educational Workshops which help community members tackle home repairs themselves and learn strategies to reduce energy/water usage and improve indoor air quality; 5) Workforce Development, providing training in deconstruction and warehouse operations for individuals with barriers to employment.

LBC is committed to serving disadvantaged communities. LBC provides reclaimed materials and educational resources that help individuals, small businesses and area nonprofits lower their construction costs, while also fostering environmental sustainability by keeping usable building materials out of landfills and putting them back into use.
