Veteran & First Responder Recovery Support - Rural Access Program
op HERO HEAL FOUNDATIONProject Description:
Hero Heal Foundation provides trauma-informed recovery support for military veterans and first responders who are struggling but are not engaging traditional systems of care.
In rural Eastern Oregon many veterans live hours from a VA facility or avoid seeking help due to stigma, prior negative experiences, or lack of available services. As a result, individuals often isolate, lose relationships, or enter crisis before receiving support.
Donations fund direct support services including:
• peer support and guided recovery groups
• reintegration and life-skills workshops
• wellness education and resilience training
• connection to appropriate clinical and community resources when higher levels of care are needed
Our approach focuses on rebuilding trust first. Participants are met in a non-clinical environment and supported in reconnecting with purpose, relationships, and community stability.
Many of the people we serve would not walk into a hospital or counseling office.
They will, however, talk to someone who understands their background and meets them where they are.
Your donation helps a veteran or first responder take the first step back into life before a crisis occurs.
