TOUCHSTONE

At the heart of the theatre is a resident professional ensemble of theatre artists who serve this mission via:

1) ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS offer a season of Touchstone-produced and guest artist-presented performances, partnering with a diverse circle of artists throughout the country and world for our presenting series. Free public readings, talkbacks, and workshops augment the exchange between artist and audience. The theatre offers pay-what-you-will tickets on select evenings. Select productions tour to venues locally, nationally, and internationally.

2) COMMUNITY PROJECTS look to the public's stories, both their stresses and successes, for inspiration. In October 2019, Festival UnBound envisioned our city's future using the arts and civic dialogue. The 10-day, multi-faceted event of 20+ shows offered free and pay-what-you-will tickets; included open captions, audio descriptions, and bilingual sign language interpretation; and highlighted voices of Black, Latinx, LGBTQ+, veterans, youth, and individuals supporting or living with disabilities.

3) ARTS EDUCATION exposes primarily at-risk children and youth to the arts, teaching theatre as a positive means for self-expression. It is comprised of school residencies and onsite summer programs that explore the process of creating original work. School programs are offered at no charge to the student. Summer camp scholarships are offered to those with demonstrated need.
