NATIONAL SOCIETY OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

Promote the objects of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution by encouraging patriotism, education and Historic preservation.

This DAR chapter supports education by working with students at all grade levels for literacy and community service and financial support for DAR approved schools, eg Chemawa Indian School located in Salem, Oregon. This chapter also promotes patriotism by providing service and financial support to Portland V.A. and other veterans organizations, active duty military and education about U.S. flag etiquette. Historic preservation is provided in the following ways: financial and service to Caples House Museum and Newell Pioneer Village and by care taking of Cooper Mountain Cemetery and Cherryville Cemetery. Recipients of chapter support are given irrespective of race, gender, culture, religion or national origin.
