Para Endurance Foundation advocates and assists disabled people of various skill levels from across the USA to be involved in adaptive triathlon and multiport activities. Within this disabled group, we have a special place for injured veterans and first responders. We provide training through resources, education, clinics, camps and USAT sanctioned races. One of the distinguishing marks of this initiative is that the athletes come first, not just in word, but in demonstration.
Since 2018 we have strived to have maximum return on investment via:
• Optimum staff to athlete ratio
• Implement appropriate balance of education and application
• Value understanding above transmission of information
• Foster growth of the sport and community at all levels
• Inclusiveness and equal opportunity
• Support and resources for athletes beyond events
• Purposeful in partnership, programming, and procedures
Our premiere coach to athlete ratio ensures as much customization as possible takes place for the athlete. We foster an environment that has collaborative, inclusive grassroots opportunity for adaptive athletes, Visually Impaired guides, certified Coaches and Race Directors to gain relevant education and hands on experience to overcome barriers and promote wellness through adaptive triathlon. We offer an environment that highly promotes an intentional strategy of learning and hands on experience.
Some the concepts and standards we value include:
• No conveyor belt or cookie cutter approach
• Everyone exhibits a posture of learning
• Promote a "pass the torch" mindset
• Athletes leave equipped, not overwhelmed
• Minimal cost to the athlete - veterans are not charged
We execute mindful advocacy through:
• Stimulate Diligence – constant, earnest, care, and effort to accomplish the undertaking
• Recon the venue to be accessible
• Think ahead regarding facilities, restrooms, parking
• Educate leadership and volunteer roles about adaptive etiquette
• Filter our perspective through the “eyes” of the disabled
• Stay on task
• Discourage Negligence – carelessness, inattention, disregard and/or indifference to the undertaking whether intentional or not
• Take nothing for granted
• Be prepared for unforeseen circumstances
• Utilize wise risk management
• Embrace Vigilance – keenly watchful to detect danger in the undertaking
• Safety and well-being of all participants – #1 priority
• All events are USAT Sanctioned and USA Paratriathlon Friendly
• All staff and leadership are SafeSport Trained and vetted
Personal relationships are emphasized through:
• Personal contact prior to clinic/camp via phone call to break the ice and gather additional information and insight to best serve their needs
• This helps builds confidence and anticipation for the athlete
• Fostering an environment and attitude of excellence
• Check egos at the door
• Keep it real
• Athletes and their needs come first
• Respect
• No second-class attitude
• Not treated as an afterthought
• red carpet decorum
• dignity for these dignitaries
• spotlight is on each individual to shine
• lives are impacted beyond the sport
• educational and sustainability development
• This is a partnership – not an organizational preservation approach
• our strength and success are personified together
• in a divisive world, we set the benchmark to finish together
• and always have fun
“A rising tide lifts all boats” …
It is an honor and privilege to serve these athletes and families. The impact beyond the sport on all lives involved is significant, extensive and powerful. We are better together. No one navigates this sport or life by themselves. Our hashtag - #neveralone
We encourage your support for these athletes and the impact for good in their lives and the world.
