MARTHAS KITCHEN

For more than 45 years, Martha’s Kitchen has been nourishing communities and fighting hunger throughout Silicon Valley and beyond. Founded in 1981 with a simple mission to provide wholesome meals to those in need, Martha’s Kitchen has grown into one of the region’s trusted food security organizations. Today, we prepare and serve nutritious meals, provide groceries to families, support homebound seniors, and rescue and redistribute surplus food through a network of nonprofit and community partners. Our services reach individuals and families facing food insecurity, older adults, children, and others experiencing hardship, with all meals and food assistance provided free of charge, no questions asked.

The need for food assistance continues to grow as families face rising costs and limited resources. Martha’s Kitchen is meeting that need through compassion, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring no one has to wonder where their next meal will come from. Over the past five years, we have provided more than 11.5 million meals, rescued over 10.7 million pounds of food, and contributed to a stronger regional food safety net through our community partnerships. With our new permanent home, the San Jose Food Hub, Martha’s Kitchen is building the infrastructure and capacity to expand our reach and serve even more people in the years ahead. With the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, we are turning food into hope, nourishment, and dignity for those who need it most.
