North Olympic Regional Veteran’s Housing Network, operating as Sarge’s Veteran Support (SVS), is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to aiding homeless Veterans in Clallam and Jefferson Counties on the remote Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. SVS aims to heal, restore dignity, provide hope and self-sufficiency to Veterans in need, while significantly reducing homelessness and poverty among local Veterans.
SVS manages various facilities to support Veterans, including “Sarge’s Place” shelter in Forks, "The Outpost" and "Camp Sol Duc" permanent supportive housing projects in Port Angeles and Forks respectively, “Hobucket House” group home for disabled low-income homeless Veterans in Forks, and “Lt Col James Minsky Place” group home for disabled and elderly Veterans in Sequim. Additionally, they operate a small farm and greenhouse to grow produce that Veterans eat, as well as selling to local patrons. By offering intensive case management, therapeutic care, employment assistance, disability claims support, and access to medical/mental health/dental services and local resources, SVS helps Veterans reintegrate into society with compassion and purpose.
SVS collaborates with various social service agencies on the Olympic Peninsula and local Tribal Nations, ensuring a comprehensive and seamless support network for Veterans in need. Their efforts have positively impacted hundreds of Veterans through shelter and supportive housing programs, as well as providing referrals and resources to enhance their lives. SVS takes pride in being a beacon of dignity and support for all Veterans.
Currently, SVS is fundraising to expand their small farm and complete on-site housing for Veterans involved in agricultural activities.
