GRuB (Garden-Raised Bounty)

OLYMPIA, Washington

GRuB grows healthy food, people, and communities. Our mission is to inspire positive personal and community change by bringing people together around food and agriculture. We do this by partnering with youth, seniors, people with low incomes, veterans and other marginalized people to create empowering individual and community food solutions, and by offering tools and education for building a just and sustainable food system. We were founded in 2001 upon the merger of two grassroots programs, the Kitchen Garden Project (founded in 1993), and the Sister Holly Community Garden Project (founded in 1996). This year, we celebrate 20 years of working with young people in our community, have been part of constructing more than 2,800 gardens throughout the South Sound and have engaged thousands of youth, families, and volunteers in the transformative acts of growing, cooking and sharing healthy food.
