BondFire is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization formed in May 2022 that is centrally located in Clanton, Alabama. Our mission is, “Warming the Heart of Families,” especially those of the military (Total Force, Active Duty, Veterans and Retires), first responders, and their families. The military and on duty experiences many of our heroes endure leave invisible wounds. Through equine and outdoor experiences, we can heal, reconnect, and build resiliency. Activities at the Ranch include various aspects of horse interactions, like grooming, ground training, riding, and we will eventually integrate equine assisted therapy. Our outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, crafts, and good old-fashioned bonfires. All of these activities are intended to offer meaningful engagement without the interference of electronics. Some find it difficult to communicate with family and friends, due to the time and distance in faraway places or the long duties hours that hinder their abilities to spend time with them. Our programs are designed to support participants in having positive, face-to-face conversations and experiences that will facilitate healing and strengthen the bonds within their families.
BondFire Ranch is located on a 32-acre parcel, centrally located between Birmingham and Montgomery. The Ranch includes a 5-stall barn, horse pastures, 2-acre fishing pond, a 35x50 concrete pad and a large pasture for hiking, crafts, and bonfires. Our organization is governed by a board of directors who provide oversight and guidance to our executive director. We also rely on a volunteer corps to assist with horse exercise and care, barn chores, land clean up, and leading our program activities.
