MENDING HOPE EQUINE RESCUE

We were established in 2022. We are a horse rescue and sanctuary that strives to save, shelter, and protect equine. We try to save as many equines as we can from the slaughter pipeline as we can and rehabilitate them. Once rehabilitated we try to find them forever homes. If they are not adopted, they live their lives here at the rescue. We save equine from auctions, owner surrender, and mustangs directly from the Bureau Land Management and United States Forestry Services. We typically take in the ones less likely to be adopted or that need a safe landing. We educate on animal abuse and on mustangs. We have a humane officer to help advocate for the animals.
In the many years our founder has had working with horses she has seen and read supporting documents that horses can have a big impact on our wellbeing and mental health. In April of 2023 Mending Hope Equine Rescue Collaborated with Patriot Horseman ship to offer a free equine assisted activities to Veterans, Horses & Heroes Program. In June of 2023 became a Community Partner with Butler VA for the Horses & Heroes Program. In December of 2023 Mending Hope Equine Rescue started a new program Healing Hooves. This Program takes the trained rescues into Skilled Nursing Facilities for equine assisted activities. In January we became a Charity Partner with Seen Through Horses for the 2024 Horses for Mental Health Campaign that runs during the month of May to help spread awareness of mental health and the positive impact equines can have on it. Our goal is to expand our programs that promote the relationship through animal/human interaction to improve welling being of both animal and human.
