Since 1930, SVdP has provided safety net services in Trumbull County, including rent/utility assistance, furniture, bed, clothing, and home goods vouchers, 3 local food pantries, and serving more than 550 hot, home-cooked meals daily in our SVdP Hunger Center Daily Meal Service program in Warren. Although we assist neighbors during crisis periods, we also provide job skills training/coaching programs to guide them
toward becoming self-sufficient, as well as resources to assist those recently released from incarceration, providing them with resources to reintegrate successfully back into society, with the goal of reducing recidivism.
Virtually all SVdP programs are staffed by a vast network of volunteers and SVdP Conference members. This group consists of nearly 350 individuals and businesses who personify the heart of service to those most in need in Trumbull County. Whether providing voucher screenings, cooking and serving daily meals, stocking shelves in the SVdP Thrift Store or mentoring individuals toward successful employment opportunities, our Vincentian men and women are pillars of service, compassion and charity in our local community. It is no understatement to say that SVdP could not provide for those who come to us for help without the volunteers' gifts of time and talent.
While there are many facets to the SVdP roster of programs and services, the over-arching goal is always the same. To provide our neighbors in need not just a hand out - but a hand up - and assist them on a path to being able to provide for themselves and their families today and into the future.
*Daily home-cooked hot meals provided via curbside carryout and served 11:30 am –1:00 pm, Monday –Saturday at SVDP Nick Parilla Dining Hall on Niles Road in Warren. In 2023, 100,000+ meals were provided locally.
*SVdP Food Pantry services at three locations in Warren provide thousands of pounds of canned goods, pantry staples, milk, cheese, meat, bread, and pet food.

*Rent/mortgage and utility voucher assistance and emergency/crisis housing placement, ID/birth certificate procurement assistance/vouchers, and person-to-person emergency counseling
*CARES Weekly Clothing Voucher Program - more than $153,000 in retail clothing value was distributed last year.
*SVdP Sleep Soundly Voucher Program provides clean, factory-fresh mattresses - 476 mattress sets provided for those transitioning from homelessness into stable housing, those individuals rebuilding their lives after years of mental illness and/ or substance use disorders, families who lost everything due to the ongoing bedbug epidemic in our area, and seniors and veterans living on the brink of financial disaster without resources to purchase a new bed for themselves.
*Harnett Food Pantry Program - this program is one more tool in our arsenal to combat poverty. Last year SVdP distributed nearly 12,000 pounds of dog and cat food during the bi-monthly pet food distribution. As many of our neighbors have only their pets for companionship, and are faced with skyrocketing inflation and pet food prices, this service allows our neighbors in need to use funds to pay rent or utilities or groceries while providing for their "family" members as well.
*Furniture, home goods, and appliances are provided through the SVdP Share to Care Voucher Program. In 2022, SVdP was able to voucher more than $72,000 in donated, gently loved merchandise to assist clients in making their houses a home.
*SVdP Back2Work Program: One of the bedrock principles of SVdP National is to "end poverty through systemic change". The local Back2Work Program provides customized job skills training, continuing education, community collaborative resources, connectivity, and mentoring to low-income unemployed, or underemployed individuals, helping them become self-sufficient.
*SVdP IMMERSION Program provides reintegration support for those recently incarcerated individuals with the tools to rebuild their lives; including collaborating agency referrals and wraparound services to help alleviate recidivism rates.
*SVDP Thrift & Furniture Store offers high-quality, low-cost home goods, clothing, furniture, and mattresses – with 100% of store proceeds dedicated to funding local SVdP programs and services.
For seniors, veterans, the unhoused and so many other individuals and families in Trumbull County who are struggling to meet daily challenges, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, through its Conferences and Special Works, provides individual emergency assistance and support services to those living in Trumbull County communities. Person-to-person assistance is the trademark of the St. Vincent de Paul Society - and the
promise to treat everyone with dignity and respect.....Neighbors helping Neighbors.
