The corporation’s programs work in partnership with organizations to identify veterans at risk of suicide in the Texas Hill Country. The corporation will endeavor to reduce veteran suicide by providing veterans and their families with education and training, enrollment for benefits and referrals to the United States Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), or referral to area mental health providers, which includes but is not limited to: transportation, care-givers, equipment, lodging and other services provided by the VA or area mental health providers and encourage veterans and their families to participate. Additionally, the corporation may provide direct financial assistance to veterans in need and will administer these grants through a Veteran Direct Assistance Program (VDAP). The objective is to significantly reduce veteran suicide in the Hill Country of Texas.
TWHCV is focused on supporting the overall health of our veterans and families, the corporation, its officers, employees, contractors and those who attend TWHCV events are expressly prohibited from engaging in partisan political activity, solicitation or overtly religious engagement or commercial activities that may be actual or perceived conflict of interest with the non-profit status of the corporation. Violation of these bylaws is punishable by dismissal from the corporation or barring from business with TWHCV.
