Resurrection Life Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting food insecurity across Western New York by providing reliable access to nutritious food for seniors, veterans, and families in need. For more than 31 years, the pantry has served as a trusted community resource, ensuring that individuals facing hardship can receive food with dignity, compassion, and consistency.
What began as a small community effort has grown into a comprehensive food distribution program that now operates multiple innovative models designed to reach people wherever they are. These programs include a drive-through food distribution, a Healthy Choice Market where families can select nutritious foods in a grocery-store-style setting, online ordering for convenient access, and home delivery programs for seniors and veterans who face transportation or mobility barriers.
Resurrection Life Food Pantry has developed strong partnerships across the region to better serve vulnerable populations. For more than a decade, the pantry has worked closely with the VA’s HUD-VASH program to ensure that chronically homeless veterans transitioning into stable housing receive consistent access to food. Through this partnership, veterans connected with HUD-VASH are automatically eligible for food assistance, removing many of the barriers that often prevent people from seeking help.
The organization also operates a successful senior delivery program that provides monthly food deliveries to more than 200 low-income seniors, helping older adults remain independent while maintaining access to healthy food. By combining food rescue efforts, strategic partnerships, and innovative distribution systems, Resurrection Life Food Pantry reduces food waste across Western New York while ensuring that nutritious food reaches those who need it most.
With the completion of a major facility expansion that includes additional warehouse space, walk-in refrigeration and freezer capacity, and improved distribution infrastructure, the pantry is positioned to expand its reach even further. These improvements allow the organization to increase food rescue operations, strengthen delivery programs, and respond more effectively to rising community need.
