HOPE SERVICE DOGS

Hope Service Dogs, Inc (HSD) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Central Florida, established in 2018.
HSD initiated the Breeding Program to provide purpose-bred, health and temperament tested Service Dogs to mitigate the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. While Service Dogs can be any breed, the most successful are golden retrievers, standard poodles, and labrador retrievers. HSD’s unique breeding program includes the introduction of foundation aspects of Service Dog training to the puppies starting from birth.
HSD developed the Warrior Program to assist our veterans who require a Service Dog. The goal of the Warrior Program is to donate Service Dogs to military members and veterans disabled by and diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The Warrior receives the puppy, whose Service Dog training has been started by HSD’s professional Service Dog trainers, and continues the intensive training with HSD to ensure proper training for both the dog and handler.
HSD created the Hope for the Future Scholarship for owners needing assistance training their Service Dog. This scholarship program grants recipients access to professional Service Dog training through approved sources. Currently, these include Heart & Soul Dog Training’s 4-Day in-person Service Dog School and Heart & Soul Dog Training’s online Service Dog School. While priority is given to individuals who have one of the dogs from HSD, it is open to everyone.
One of the core principles of HSD has been Community and Sustained Outreach. There is an absence of information on Service Dogs, from what makes a Service Dog, testing, training, working, to what is acceptable and not acceptable, what tasks are appropriate, and more. HSD works to answer these questions in a number of ways, including the Service Dog Secrets podcast, Instagram, Facebook page and Facebook groups, YouTube, and TikTok.
