Maricopa Pantry continues in our goal to feed those who need it in Maricopa, Arizona and its surrounding communities. We are uniquely positioned to serve city folks, mini-ranches, rural communities, senior communities, and the homeless – all who reside within minutes of our food distributions. Since the onset of the COVID pandemic, the number of families looking for food has continued to rise. At present we are feeding 1500 families or more every single week.
Continuing to find enough food for these families is a constant battle, and now an additional setback is hampering us. In March 2022 a devastating fire burned our facility to the ground. We are in the process of building a new warehouse and hope to have it completed by summer. More than ever, we need help to get all this completed and still serve the families that depend on us.
Maricopa Pantry works with an all-volunteer staff and is strongly backed by our communities. Our motto is ‘a hand up, not a handout’ and we strive to live it. Many who receive help from us turn around and volunteer with us, so as to help their neighbors as well. In this way we reach neighbors who we might not otherwise know about; the homeless, homebound, veterans, the aged, the infirm, and those in shelter homes.
Through volunteers that deliver, we are even helping families in small towns farther away who have no access to help.
If you are looking for a worthy cause that touches a vast array of people, Maricopa Pantry is a perfect choice. We are a federally recognized 501C3 organization with no paid staff. As such, you can be sure that your dollars are all going exactly to the cause you support; into food distributed to whoever needs it, and into safe storage facilities for that food. We are also planning on branching out to include programs such as a soup kitchen, Meals on Wheels for our area, clothing bank, and others. Please consider us for your donation. You can find more information online at MaricopaPantry.org, or on our Facebook page at Maricopa Pantry.
