MONTANA CONSERVATION CORPS INC

BOZEMAN, Montana

The mission of Montana Conservation Corps (MCC) is to inspire young people through hands-on conservation service to be leaders, stewards of the land, and engaged citizens who improve their communities. Since our founding, MCC has provided transformative, team-focused and service-driven experiences in the outdoors for young people. With the establishment of AmeriCorps in 1993, MCC became one of the first national service programs with an environmental focus. Over the years, we have become preeminent in engaging young people in conservation service as a means of helping them develop as leaders and citizens. Growing within the unique model of conservation corps, MCC has pioneered a unique leadership training program and built deep relationships with conservation partners and land management agencies. We believe that now, more than ever, the engagement of young people is vital to caring for our lands as well as our democratic institutions. By weaving together leadership development, teamwork, civic engagement, and work-skills training with direct service to our environment and our communities, MCC helps young people develop competencies for achieving success. Through this service, our participants experience the full measure of their character and discover their capacity to lead change in their communities – and, even more importantly, in their own lives.
