DALLAS MISSION FOR LIFE INC

Dallas LIFE is the largest homeless shelter in north Texas and over 60 years old. We serve up to 500 needy men, women and children stay each night. We Serve over 350,000 meals and over 120,000 beds each year. 90% of people in our Homeless No More Program reach full recovery as compared to less than 10% national average. Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson says it is the best example of a homeless recovery program she has ever seen. Our Executive Director, Bob Sweeney has been invited to speak to both Congress and the National Homeless Caucus in Washington. We are the only shelter that takes single men with children and the only shelter with programs for homeless senior citizens and those with disabilities. The VA chooses Dallas LIFE as its only place go send Veteran families in need of lodging. We have 52 private family rooms. They can sleep from a family of 2 to a family of 8. Several of these rooms are set aside for veteran’s families specifically. We give away more than 1,000 pieces of clothing every month in our clothing room. We have a state of the art medical, dental and vision clinic. Most shelters in American see up to 10% of their people reach long term recovery and here at Dallas LIFE we see over 90% success!
