Front Steps began with a vision to end homelessness in Austin, Texas. Established in 1997 as the Capital Area Homeless Alliance, our organization was born out of the Community Action Network’s 1996 Comprehensive Plan for Addressing Homelessness. Since then, we have been dedicated to providing a pathway home for those in need.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to provide a pathway home. We are a non-profit 501©(3) organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness by offering a variety of services and resources uniquely tailored to each individual in Austin, Texas.

At Front Steps, we believe in a personalized approach to support our clients. Our services are designed to move individuals from homelessness to safe, affordable long-term housing and to help them maintain their homes. We offer:

Supportive Housing Programs: Specifically for chronically homeless individuals, providing them with the stability they need.

Coordination with Community Providers: We work closely with other homeless services providers to offer both transitional and permanent housing options.
