Our nation has been blessed with generations of men and women who have answered the call to serve, defending our communities as members of the armed forces. On land, at sea, and in the air, they have sacrificed much to uphold the American ideal.

Yet, every year in Colorado, countless veterans—from World War II to the Global War on Terror—are laid to rest without receiving meaningful military honors. The reasons are heartbreaking: a lack of personnel, insufficient funding, and logistical challenges. These brave men and women, who selflessly served to protect our freedoms and values, are often deprived of the dignified tribute they were promised. While many do their best to address this gap, there is still more that can—and must—be done.

The Honor Bell Foundation seeks to bridge this gap by fostering a community of veterans dedicated to honoring their fellow service members and inspiring public appreciation for military service. At the heart of this mission is the Honor Bell—a custom-forged, 1,000-pound bronze bell that includes artifacts from Colorado veterans. This bell is more than an instrument; it is a symbol of sacrifice and unity.

Rung by a corps of veteran volunteers from all conflicts and military branches, the Honor Bell tolls during funeral services to provide a solemn and fitting tribute to the lives of those who served. Through our Bell Honors Program, Veterans Outreach efforts, and the Bell Guard initiative, we ensure that those who sacrificed so much for our freedom are honored with dignity and respect.
