Dogs Helping Heroes is a non-profit dedicated to helping restore lost freedom and peace of mind to wounded veterans, first responders, and their families by gifting specially trained and certified service dogs.

Our full circle of support starts when we choose a rescue dog that has the appropriate traits to become a service or emotional support animal. At first, the dog lives with prison inmates who are responsible for the early stages of the training process, which also helps with the inmates’ rehabilitation. Professional dog trainers complete the training and match each dog with the appropriate wounded veteran, first responder or family of a lost hero. Our dogs are trained to help mitigate disabilities by assisting with everyday tasks, mobility, stability, seizure alerts, emotional support or other needed services.
