Through their sacrifices for this nation, servicemembers earn educational benefits designed to help them succeed in their post-military lives. Veterans Education Success’ mission is to protect and defend the integrity and promise of those benefits including the GI Bill and other federal education programs for veterans and servicemembers. These educational benefits are vital to enabling servicemembers and their families to succeed in the next chapter of their lives.

We provide free legal advice and counseling to help veterans and military families access and use their hard-earned education benefits, and we work with partner veteran and military service organizations to educate federal and state policymakers to protect the integrity of the GI Bill and veterans' rights. This includes ensuring the success of military-connected students using the GI Bill and other federal educational benefits and weeding out predatory "colleges" and their waste, fraud, and abuse.

Veterans Education Success was formed in 2013 after a two-year U.S. Senate Committee investigation revealed predatory colleges were targeting veterans and servicemembers with aggressive, deceptive, and sometimes fraudulent recruiting in order to get access to the lucrative GI Bill and Defense Department Tuition Assistance. Veterans were losing their one shot at the GI Bill and the skills they needed to enter the civilian workforce and provide a better future for themselves and their families. For that reason, Veterans Education Success filled a gap in services to enable veteran’s successful utilization of their hard-earned benefits. Veterans Education Success is the only organization providing free legal services to veterans specific to the utilization of VA educational benefits.
