ABCDEF (Assorted Beef, Chicken, Dairy, Eggs, and Fish) Project
チャリティ活動名 SHIPPENSBURG PRODUCE OUTREACH INCIn addition to providing a bag of fresh produce, and a bag of staple dry/canned goods, the objective of the project is to provide 1 pound of meat, 1 half-gallon of milk, and 1 dozen eggs in every weekly food distribution to registered clients. Grant funds would be used to purchase foods primarily through the Central PA Food Bank--the most economical way to source bulk foods. Implementing the program aligns neatly with SPO's well-exercised weekly food distribution model which includes meat/dairy/eggs when SPO can purchase them at affordable prices. Over the past three years, SPO has experienced a significant increase in costs to purchase affordable, healthy foods for distribution; in 2025 SPO will have to cover a 25% increase in produce delivery cost. In the same period, SPO's roster of registered clients has quadrupled to over 800 households. Because of these compounding effects, SPO is seeking to target grant funding towards purchasing staple foods like meat, dairy, and eggs that are becoming unaffordable to provide at the current weekly frequency.
