Americanus Fidelis Lupus (AFL) is a veteran-founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization developing The Sanctuary — a 100+ acre agricultural retreat and therapeutic campus where U.S. military members, veterans, first responders, and their families can heal, reconnect, and rebuild purpose free of charge.

Rooted in the belief that gratitude deserves action and healing deserves a home, AFL bridges the gaps left by the existing system through evidence-based therapy, vocational learning, and community-driven care. The Sanctuary model provides a full-spectrum pathway from trauma to transformation — addressing mental health, physical rehabilitation, career readiness, and long-term reintegration.

AFL’s approach aligns closely with national priorities to strengthening post-service transition programs, rural revitalization, and holistic health initiatives. Through collaboration and public-private partnerships, AFL stands ready to complement the Department of Defense Transition Assistance Program (TAP) by serving as a trusted, veteran-led community resource after separation from service.

In addition, AFL is establishing two key support pillars that directly address critical unmet needs within the VA system: Cancer Support and Resource Center, designed to fill existing care gaps faced by veterans battling cancer and chronic illness. This center will provide holistic, family-centered support that complements medical treatment with community, education, and wellness. As well as a Veterans Resource Epicenter, serving as a trusted hub for VA claims, benefits navigation, and education—helping service members and their families access the benefits they’ve earned with clarity and dignity.
